Here are some very useful links to IBD related sites that can be very supportive
Crohn's and Colitis UK
Always top of the list when anybody suspects they have or know someone who has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This is a great organisation with a mine of information freely available on all aspects of living with or living with somebody with IBD. There are also local support groups around the UK and forums. They cater very well for children with IBD too.
So Bad Ass
I have recently discovered Amy. She became ill with Ulcerative Colitis at a similar time to when I started experiencing the first symptoms of Crohn's. She is an inspiration to anybody who has to go through periods of illness and disability in their life. If you ever feel in need of positive vibes and inspirational thinking then this website is surely the first port of call.
Crohn's Forum
This forum was set up in the states but has members from around the world. It is for anybody with any form of IBD, or who thinks they have IBD. I have found it very useful when I have a query about a symptom or a procedure. If you look on here, you will probably find that somebody has already asked the question, and if they haven't you can, and get experiences and opinions from plenty of other people going through exactly the same thing. I would like to offer a warning about any forum though. It is very easy to get bogged down in the disease and what it does to people and in the pain and discomfort it puts you in. Try not to spend too much time dwelling on it and make sure you still live your life. (Which is why I put So Bad Ass above this site.)
